About Team Nemesis
Team Nemesis brings reality based training to the arena of modern combat sports: we teach Amateur Boxing, Freestyle Wrestling, Eskrima and specialise in Close Quarter Combat, a very practical system that deals with a short duration, high intensity conflict, often characterised by a sudden burst of hostility at a very close range.
We are responsible for teaching Self Protection and The Law to the Security at the University of Bath, as well as run regular Awareness & Self Protection seminars for general public. Our classes cover threat assessment, conflict resolution, overview of the law, control & restraint, and of course, fighting in all ranges.
The team works closely with Trojan Free Fighters, one of Britain’s top professional Mixed Martial Arts teams. Supported by their vast experience in Amateur Boxing, Muay Thai, Submission Grappling and Freestyle Wrestling, we provide unprecedented quality of training for a new generation of fighters in Bath and surrounding area.
Newcomers are always welcome! Feel free to contact us for any additional information.
The team was formed in August 2004 as a partnership between two long term training partners. Originally it was set up as a small independent club focused on promoting awareness and safety within local community and educating general public at large about the realities of modern self protection.
Since than Team Nemesis has gone from strength to strength, growing into a dynamic community of over 300 members and established ourselves as the principle source of sporting and self protection knowledge in Bath and surrounding area. Close Quarter Combat remains the team’s main focus, however we have expanded to also include Amateur Boxing, Freestyle Wrestling, Eskrima and an all-arround Fitness and Conditioning classes.
Due to our depth of knowledge on the subject, team founders are frequently invited to teach at the surrounding clubs and communities. Also, with such students to their names as 2006 Commonwealth gold medalist, Jamie Cox, 2010 Commonwealth bronze medalist, Leon Rattigan, and one of the most decorated MMA fighters in the UK, Ronnie Mann, our coaches have unparalleled track record.
Through out all of our successes one thing remained constant, the team is run in a very friendly and informal way and is driven by the needs and desires of our community. In all of our classes, we aim to promote mentoring and collaboration between all team members and encourage individual approach and independent thinking from each member.

Hi,
Are your classes mixed? Im female and very interested in doing close quarter combat and amateur boxing.
Many thanks
Steph
Steph, glad to hear that you are interested in coming along to train with us. You are more then welcome to join any of the classes we run which are all mixed not only in gender but also in terms of skill level. We find that this helps to fast-track newcomers through the initial adaptation period and quickly gets them to the level where they feel confident within the class.
