Close Quarter Combat
Close Quarter Combat is an extremely effective and practical combat system designed for modern day needs. It brings reality based training to the arena of modern combat sports and covers striking, grappling, wrestling as well as threat assessment, conflict management, overview of the law and human psychology.
Like MMA, CQC combines proven techniques of the modern combat sports. However, unlike MMA, it focusses on a reality based element of combat: a short duration, high intensity conflict, often characterised by a sudden burst of hostility at an extremely close range. It provides a unique insight into the realities of modern confrontation.
This class is taught by Dmytro Konstantinov and Tim Leach, and is suitable for both beginners and professionals alike. It focuses on reality based training methodology, pioneered by Geoff Thompson, and covers a wide range of skills, such as: threat assessment, conflict management and resolution, control and restraint, partner assist, Common Law, Criminal Law, Human Rights, as well as fighting within all ranges.
Throughout our unique syllabus careful attention is paid to understanding causes and consequences of a potential encounter. This skill often plays a key role in recognising and avoiding the conflict all together and is major player in peaceful conflict resolution. Failing that, the combat element of the system is composed of simple yet effective techniques adjusted to the realities of the modern life.
In fact, the system proved to be so successful that Team Nemesis is now responsible for teaching Self Protection and The Law to the Security Staff at the University of Bath, as well as doing regular seminars for the general public and students alike. Furthermore, we work closely with the local community not only on creating a safe environment but also on engaging local youths and promoting active life style in Bath and surrounding area.
