Fitness & Conditioning

At Team Nemesis we recognise that all-out combat training, be it boxing, wrestling or CQC, may not be for everyone. There is plenty of reason why you would like to concentrate on your physical strength and conditioning, in preference to combat training:

  • you might be just starting up
  • you might be recovering from an injury,
  • you might wish to avoid the risk associated with contact sports

All of the above are valid reasons and to address them we decided to complement our training with a class dedicated to general fitness and conditioning. This is not specific to any one sport, it does not involve any physical contact, instead the class concentrates on improving everyone’s strength, speed and endurance in the most general sense of the word.

Our Fitness and Conditioning can be described as an all-around fitness class that provides a practical workouts for everyday people with real-life goals. It doesn’t matter if you already train with the team or if you just want to do this one session, everyone is welcomed. Our objective is genuine fitness, not merely the appearance of it. Our goal is to create lifelong habits versus a quick fix.

The class runs entirely outdoors and does not follow mainstream fitness program, neither does it use a conventional methods for creating a physical challenge. Our workouts rarely use weights. Instead, we concentrate on exercises that combine interval training with functional movements, such as push up, squats, jumps, carries, etc. This allows us to individually scale the workout, thus getting the best possible results, applicable to a variety of situations.

The session is held outside and consist of a gentle jog to one of the local parks, followed by a number of body weight exercises performed in a circuit-like fashion. On the whole, the class takes about an hour and a half to complete and is frequently followed by a trip to the local pub.
